From yoga to cooking and from dance to literature, the past one-and-ahalf months have been funfilled for children in the city as thousands of children had participated in 21 activities as part of the Times of India’s Mumbai for Kids initiative.
As an indication of the initiative’s popularity among Mumbaikars, TOI received 26,749 registrations via SMS and 350 registrations through the website. The event commenced with a sky-gazing workshop at the Nehru Planetarium on December 19. Over 3,000 children in the city got a chance to participate in 21 activities up to January 10. During the Mumbai for Kids visits, children and their parents attended various workshops hosted by famous professionals giving them great insight in the work they do. Among those which gave lessons in performing arts was a film-making workshop by Amol Gupte, a dance workshop by choreographer Terence Lewis and a theatre workshop by Raell Padamsee.
