To create a sense of patriotism among young students, 23 city schools had come together to put up a Republic Day Parade at Bandstand, Bandra on 26th January 2016. Part of the Brihanmumbai Inter-school Republic Day(BIRD) committee, the schools had been practising for the past month to create a Rajpath like setting. The parade also included cultural performances like Lazim, Bhangra, a song of unity and a Gujarati folk song.
