Nearly 200 girls showed their karate skills at the 3rd Women National Karate Championship 2015 in association with The Telegraph, organised by the All India Budo Shotokan Karate Association (AIBSKA) at Springfield, The Spring Club. There were participants from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Assam alongside Bengal. Around 35 events were split up into two categories of shadow fighting and fighting.
A class I student of DPS Megacity said that it was her first tournament and she was very excited about the whole event. A parent of a student from DPS Megacity said that her daughter has been learning karate for two years and has just received her green belt. A parent of a student of La Martiniere for Girls said that her daughter has been learning karate for two years. Her daughter has already bagged two medals-a silver and a bronze.
