Impressive models and excellent presentations that raise concerns over environment were the highlights of the 4th Times NIE Science Project Competition held at NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata. The event witnessed students of classes IX to XII from around 40 schools displaying their models and charts on various scientific applications. The projects were evaluated on three primary parameters: innovation, applicability and overall presentation. From automated level crossing with proximity sensor and waste-management to time-catcher system and Mars-exploration rover, the project covered everything. Adamas International School came first for their cost-effective and innovative portable braille printer. La Martiniere for Boys’ bagged the second position for their project on home automation with cell phones, while National English School VIP branch bagged the third position for their project on NextGen City that is not depended on non-renewable resources.
