Bharath Subramaniyam, an 8-year old boy of PSBB, KK Nagar had won gold at the FIDE World Youth & Cadets Chess Championship in the open U-8 category held in Greece the previous year as well as claiming top honours at the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Suwon, Korea. He has been under Chess coaching from when he was just six. Bharath is presently the youngest participant in the 8th Chennai Open International Grand-mater chess tournament.
