It’s a post-lunch class at Florence School in Basaveshwaranagar. Children begin the class with five minutes of meditation. And then the fun begins: A discussion on love and positivity in between their math and chemistry lessons. That’s just a glimpse of one of the Value-Ed classes in this school. The students discuss the unique positive qualities of the Kauravas, such as ambition and never give-up attitude. Or how Shakuni won over everything. From Mahabharata to current day scenario, the students discuss various issues related to life.
Value-Ed, which was launched in August 2013, has collaborated with several colleges and schools in Bengaluru and Belagavi.
When values are taught at a tender age, they remain with them forever.Classroom is only used for discussion, but the values we teach are in fact experimented outside class. The Val-Ed team becomes a part of the school’s assembly, assessment, sports and annual day events once empanelled with a school.
