The ASISC Debate and Declamation held at Sri Sri Academy witnessed 112 participants from 23 schools. The debate comprised of four events was conducted to test the oratory skills of the speakers. Students of Delhi Public School, Megacity were the winners at the debate, taking home the trophies at both the junior and senior levels. They performed well in the declamation too by coming second in the senior category. The host school won the silver medal in the junior debate and bagged the second position at the senior and junior declamation respectively.
“Students have become academic robots these days”, was the topic for the junior debate. The atmosphere was charged up with opinionated speakers. Through this topic it was clear that the students were completely aware of such things and the participants felt strongly about it. In the declamation event, the topics took a patriotic flavour. While students from Classes VIII-X spoke on the topic, “I am proud to be an Indian”, their senior counterparts of Classes XI & XII put forward their interpretations on the word, “Freedom”.
