Bengaluru’s Garbage Crisis catches attention of a School Girl

Bengaluru’s garbage crisis has caught attention of several people. Now it has caught the attention of a school girl from neighbouring Kerala who has designed a science model on waste management and disposal. Devika Prakash, a class X student of Kannur is one of the participants at Southern India Science Fair (SISF). Among the 300 models exhibited by 600 students of southern states, Devika’s creation hogged the limelight as it promises a solution to one of the most pressing problems faced by the city.Students and teachers from different schools of Karnataka, Puducherry, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh participated at SISF, organized by the National Council of Science Museums.
The exhibition not only centred ongarbage crisis, students were seen to invent machines for children trapped in wells. Also, a student had designed the Tsunami Alert which will caution people living near the beach before the calamity strikes.
