As the state has witnessed the best HSC score this year after a decade, cut-off percentage for admission to degree courses in top grade colleges are likely to increase. The number of students scoring distinction and first-class has also risen by 2% from the previous year. Fewer students have failed this year or just passed or got second grades. For securing admissions to IITs, state board Science students have to fall into the top 20 percentile or score over 75%.
At Pace Junior Science College, around 250 students from among 1400 students scored over 90%. At NM College, 97% of 1083 students secured distinction. This is the first time ever that the state recorded such a huge percentage of distinctions and high percentage.
