Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has recently announced a new system under which budding CA aspirants will be able to register from Class XII and equivalent from the month of November 2016 instead of the existing 2015. President of ICAI said that under the new policy, the mandatory Common Proficiency Test (CPT) will be discontinued. Instead, a CA Foundation Course Examination of 400 marks will be conducted. Candidates securing 55% and 60% marks in B.Com and B.Sc. or engineering respectively will be allowed direct entry into CA course.
