HRD Minister Smriti Irani announced that all CBSE books and learning materials will be made available online for free as a part of the Centre’s good governance efforts. The learning materials will be in a readable format similar to the one available on Amazon Kindle and other popular e-books. The move will ensure that mid-session changes in syllabus will be immediately available online. Earlier Irani had announced that a mobile app would be launched to enable students to download all NCERT textbooks for free. To a demand made by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister at the function that endeavours be made to ensure that children shall not only excel professionally but also become good human beings.
