Once again it’s the girls who have come out on top of the boys in the recently declared CBSE Class X Results 2016 . The pass percentage has though showed a slight dip from 97.32 % last year to 97.21% , however the net number of students scoring a CGPA 10 has crossed the 1 Lakh Mark. (A CGPA 10 means all those students who have got an aggregate marks of 95% and above).
Bhubaneswar region, covering Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand, saw a pass percentage of 96.26%, with 95.58% in Bengal from where 22,102 candidates took the test. At 99.87%, Thiruvananthapuram topped the pass chart.
At another front, the girls though marginally above the boys in pass % , 96.36% compared to the 96.11% , the boys however logged a better performance with nearly 85,316 of them crossing the CGPA 10 mark compared to the 83,225 girls who achieved the same feat. Around 5000 students from the 44 KV’s took the exam. Among 163 students from KV Fort Williams,27 scored CGPA 10. At Army Public School, Barrackpore, 293 appeared for the exam, with 41 scoring CGPA 10, while 18 students at Lakhshmipat Singhania Academy scored CGPA 10 and 52 CGPA 9 and above.
However, Principal Meena Kak of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy pointed out that only 30% of those who appeared for Board get evaluated by the Board itself, the rest 70% is evaluated by school teachers. Other milestone performances include the 596 students at South Point High School, out of which 125 scored CGPA 10, while 86 scored 9.6-9.8. At Birla High, 57 scored above 90%; 35 nailed CGPA 10.At BDM International, 81 students got CGPA 10, while 190 scored above 90%. Thirty students from Shri Shikshayatan School scored CGPA 10.
