The noise for making the Class X board exams compulsory under the CBSE has got the support of some members of the board’s governing body, who are of the view that making the exam optional has led to “non-serious” attitude about studies among students. At a meeting held during the last month, the members discussed the issues that are introduced to have said that the introduction of comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) in place of board exam has given a rise to a lot of misgivings about evaluating performances of students. Governing body member, KP Gopalkrishna suggested a decision on bringing back the board exams be taken at the earliest in the interest of the students.
