With increase in weight of school bags, CBSE board is discouraging schools to follow books other than NCERT. This will even prevent the use of any textbooks other than NCERT and thus ease the burden of knowledge on the students. They will have to follow only NCERT and no additional reference books. Books by private publishers are voluminous in nature, expensive and are designed unscientifically. Thus, CBSE boards have asked schools to discontinue the use of any other books than NCERT.
