Girl who scored 96% wants to opt for English Literature after CBSE Result 2016 was announced on Saturday afternoon. Vidya Ravindranath, a student of the Delhi Public School, Mohammadwadi, had no uncertainty in choosing humanities as the stream she would study in the higher secondary school. She scored a massive 96%. She said, “I had no aptitude or interest in pursuing studies and ultimately a career in science. So I opted for humanities immediately after my tenth standard exams, because I had a longstanding interest in that stream.” Her subject combination of English, history, Political Science, Economics and Psychology has made her obtain a gigantic 96 % thus making her one of the highest scorers in this city.
Vidya and her family have been staying in the city since last four years. Her mother is a homemaker, while her father works for an automobile giant in the northern-western suburbs of the city. Vidya says that her parents are her ‘inspiration’ who had constantly been the backbone of Vidya. She says that her parents are ‘overjoyed’ at her results. She adds with a laugh, “They have always stood by me and supported me in my career path.” Vidya aims to study English Literature and wants to get admit in nation’s top college.
