The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India’s largest school board has told its 16,000 affiliated schools across the country to start the day with a rendition of the National Anthem. The board has issued a circular asking all its schools to comply with an order of Calcutta High Court on the anthem. School authorities should take initiatives in their programmes for popularizing singing of National Anthem and promoting respect for the National Flag among students.
