Except for ISC, most of the top scorers were from satellite cities of Mumbai. Students from schools of Thane and Navi Mumbai had outshone those studying at city’s renowned schools. While school principals think that it is for the student’s hard work that resulted in such excellent performance; parents feel that as schools in Navi Mumbai and other satellite cities are newer in comparison to the established ones, they strive hard for better results.
Mihir Chavarkar, a student of St. Joseph Panvel scored a 99% in his CBSE (X) exams. He aspires to join IIT and has already started to take coaching for his entrance examination. Ragini Sreenath of Delhi Public School secured 98.6% in her Class XII Science examination.
Several students from Navi Mumbai and other satellite cities had scored above 79%. School principals are taking several initiatives for a better performance of the students. Interaction with schools had also increased inducing healthy competition.
