Pune Chief Minister has taken up the task of improving standard of school education by introducing key result areas (KRA) for government schools as a measure of efficiency and output. State Education Secretary suggested that biometric attendance, vision for sports activities and separate toilets for girls and boys are some of the parameters on which the government would now judge the performance of its schools. Orders for introducing KRA in schools came directly from the Chief Minister’s office and a notification will be issued to one lakh government schools very soon.
