After madhyamik, East Midnapore has once again come into limelight as the district with the highest pass percentage. And once again it is not because of any single factor but the combination of the effort put in by the teachers, students and their parents. The number of HS candidates from the district this time was around 39,325 . A whooping 90% of these candidates have successfully cleared the exam, in contrast to the state average of 83.65%.
The reason for such consistent good results is nothing but the awareness and interest regarding education among the people. Everyone irrespective of their background and profession want that their children at least to be educated till class XII, if not more. An example of the level of awareness is the result of Egra High school in a very remote village of Egra. All the 152 candidates who wrote the exam, were successful.
A few other primary reasons were also cited by principals of Ramnagar Girls School and DL schools. According to them, parent-teacher meetings also play an important role as a contributor to the strike results of this district.
