The Delhi University (DU) will consider only a certain set of subjects for the purpose of enrolment. All the streams must have at least 70% component of theory exams in the qualifying examination for them to be treated as academic subjects. Accountancy will be treated equivalent to commerce while music and physical education will be treated as academic subjects only for seats on honours courses in those two disciplines. A second language can be considered as one of the other elective subjects provided that the mark sheets states that the other language is an elective course. For admission to honours in English and Hindi; student should pass the respective language paper in Class XII exams along with the marks of best-of-four.
