The government funded and aided schools are going to have an early summer vacation this year ,as was informed by the sources of the School education department. The respective schools will have their vacations starting from 19th May 2016 instead of the scheduled 23rd May 2016. For this, students will have to be present on 16th and 17th May. An official declaration regarding this will be issued within the next couple of days.
According to the sources of Bikash Bhavan, unit tests for the primary and summative examination for the secondary level was supposed to be held before the summer vacations. But due to intense heat wave, all schools were instructed to suspend their classes from 11th april onwards by school-education secretary,Mr Arnab Ray. The confusion and dilemma associated with the suspension and re-opening of the schools’ has made it impossible for the examinations to be held before the summer vacations.
However, a meeting was held to discuss about this on Friday at Bikash Bhavan where Mr Arnab Ray, the WBBSE and WBBHSE members were all present. Students will be notified about the schedule of the examinations on 16th and 17th may.
