With heavy rain pounding the city and weather forecast reports to face heavy shower again, the government had announced that it would postpone half-yearly examinations of all state boards’ schools. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said that examinations which was originally scheduled from 7thDecember onwards will now be held in the first week of January next year. Even schools in areas not affected by rain will not have exams until early 2016.A few schools which was reopened also shut down halfway due to heavy rain. Sishya School in Adyar which worked for a few hours stopped classes and sent back their students home.
