Sri Sri Academy students of Alipore have embraced with boys and girls from affluent background studying in Classes VIII, IX and XI to clean a forested patch that has been used as a dumpyard for years. Students from an entire class had spent two periods on a patch of urban forest on the edge of Alipore, clearing almost 1km of long green verge of construction debris and domestic wastes dumped by residents. From being school kids, they have turned themselves into change agents in order to do something for the society. ‘Be the Change’ project has created such an excitement among students that kids from other grades are also willing to take part in this project. Sri Sri Academy has always been passionate about environment and ‘Be the Change’ project will sensitize the students and help them become better citizens in the future.
