Girls have yet again outshone boys just like the last few years in the Indian Certificate of Secondary (ICSE X) and Indian School Certificate (ISC XII) examinations. The overall percentage of girls in ICSE stands at 98.95% while for boys it is 98.12%. For ISC, girls have achieved a pass percentage of 97.49% while boys have scored 95.27%. A total of 158833 candidates appeared for the Class X examination and 71141 candidates appeared for Class XII board exams which was conducted by the CISCE. Among them, 70624 were girls and 88209 were boys for ICSE; for ISC, 32482 were girls and 38659 were boys.
The overall pass percentage for the country has gone up by 0.21% for ICSE and 1.01% for ICSE.
