Happy Streets, an initiative of The Times of India was held at Park Street and hundreds of people came together at Park Street once again to reclaim their roads. The event was inaugurated by senior Kolkata Police officials, in presence of MP Derek O’Brien and Susmita Bhattacharya. It was then followed by a performance by Paridhi, a folk band. While some zipped through on skateboards, a few were seen performing cycle stunts. A group of hip hop dancers gave Zumba lessons and some school students performed a street play. Mini Football, Cricket, Basketball, Juice pong, Snake and Ladders were a handful of activities the revellers indulged in the students of La Martiniere for Girls presented a street play.
