The students of AB Goregaonkar School experienced the world of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro inside a bus parked on the school premises. It was the fourth stop for the ‘Museum on Wheels’ project by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS). The project was conceptualised almost two years ago with a bus carrying a multimedia exhibit on the Indus Valley Civilization. The museum’s attempt is to reach out to newer audiences such as those living in the suburbs and who cannot easily make it to South Mumbai.The concept was very simple. Education officer at CSMVS said that if people cannot visit the museum, the museum will visit them. The bus has visited schools in Thane and Bandra and has also parked at a Durga Puja event. It will be heading to institutions in Mira Road, Goregaon, as well as Igatpuri and Lonavla over the next couple of months.
