High School students who are studying in schools on the periphery of forests will soon get a chance to get a glimpse of the beauty of deep forest and wildlife and understand the need to serve forest as a part of their academic activity.
The State Government will soon launch the ‘Chinnara Vanya Darshana’ programme for Class IX students in schools close to forest area. In this programme, students will be taken to forests for an overnight stay and they will be explained about the need to preserve them. Events like cultural programmes, essay writing competitions will also be organized with themes related to forest as a part of the programme. The programme will be launched in Gadag and Belagavi districts in the month of December and will be extended to other districts later. The major aim of the programme is to educate students related to preserving of forests.
