High percentage in ICSE and ISC examinations brought tension to parents and students of other state boards. HSC results were the only thing they could rely upon since that was the last thing which decided college cut-offs.13.4 lakh students had appeared for HSC examination in the State. From among them, 85643 appeared for Science, 49577 for Arts, 1.8 lakh for Commerce and 5123 for MCVC in Mumbai. Students could access results on www.mahresult.nic.in, www.maharashtraeducation.com, www.hscresult.mkcl.org and www.rediff.com/exams.
Counsellor’s advisory for parents and students:
For Students:
- Check results with parents and close friends-not alone. Or, ask your teacher or school counsellor to check them and inform you.
- If you have negative thoughts, talk about them to loved ones
- On the result day, stick to your regular routine.
For parents:
- Share your anguish with other parents
- Don’t voice your expectations
- Avoid percentage-dependant rewards
- Don’t blame yourself or your child if anything goes wrong with the result.
