ICSE RESULT 2016
The season of results which begun on Friday with the CISCE Board declaring ICSE (Class-X) and ISC (Class-XII) marks took Kolkata Kids on cloud number nine as they become newsmakers on scoring ranks nationally.
Tushita Basak of Loreto Day School (Marks: 98.6%) Ranked Second said, “Physics and mathematics are my favourite subjects. I am a diligent student and had worked hard before exams. Every day, after returning from school, I studied till one in the morning. So, it feels nice that the hard work has paid off. Now, I would like to focus on ISC. My goal is to research in physics, rather than engineering or medicine. But I am not looking too far ahead at the moment.”
Devansh Chandak from La Martiniere for Boys (Marks: 98.6%) Ranked Second said, “I had aimed at a high percentage but didn’t expect this much. So, this comes as a very pleasant surprise. I am extremely fond of physics, science and computers. Hindi is one of my favourite subjects, too. In fact, I had aimed at scoring 100 in Hindi. I will be studying computer science after my ISC. I am a keen sportsman and have played cricket and tennis regularly. I also watch a lot of sport on TV.”
Shreya Agarwal of St Joan’s School, Salt Lake (scored 98.6%) Ranked Second said, “I had not expected to be among the toppers. So, I thank my luck. But yes, I had worked hard, studying for almost 8-9 hours every day throughout the year. Science and mathematics are my favourite subjects. I took tuitions for computer and am now aiming for medicine.
Soham Ghoshal from the Future Foundation School who achieved 97.8% said, “I expected something around the 96% mark but these marks have left me stunned and at the same time, extremely happy. On normal days I would study for 6 to 8 hours but when exams were round the corner I studied as much as 10 hours a day. Playing games and watching television were stress busters and something I indulged in all along. I am going to take up science in Class XI as well as I really enjoy studying physics and mathematics. It may be a bit too soon to fix my mind but I aspire to study astrophysics or mechanical engineering post school.

Arkadeb Sengupta of Don Bosco School, Park Circus (Marks: 99.25%) Rank:First in state, third nationally said,“I am taking the JEE. I am planning to get into engineering.”
Ritwika Hajra from National English School(Marks: 98.75%) Rank:Second in state said,“I had expected 95% so I am very happy with my result. My favourite subjects are mathematics and English. I will now study mathematics and statistics and eventually join research. I love music and reading.”
Anuran Chakraborty of Don Bosco School, Park Circus (Marks: 98.75%) Ranked second in state said,“To be honest I would study for only 4 to 5 hours even in the last few days before the exams. Neither would I stay up till late at night nor would I rise early as I had to go to school.Be it before or during the exams, I never stopped playing games on my computer and mobile and neither did I stop reading novels. I had expected to score well but my marks have surpassed my expectations because of which my parents are overwhelmed and shocked as well. The next step is to clear the JEE advanced exam as I want to pursue engineering in the future.
Debdut Mukherjee of Future Foundation School(Marks: 97.75%) said, “I studied 4 hours a day regularly throughout the year and put in more time right before my ISC board exams. I never stopped watching football, something I am very passionate about even during my board exams.Although a science student, I am not interested in pursuing science as a career and I am looking forward to applying to colleges for economics and management courses. I am quite shocked at my results as I did not expect such a great percentage but it is a proud moment for me to see my parents elated.
Mrinal Pradhan from St Joseph’s North Point, Darjeeling(Marks: 98.4%) said, “My favourite subject has been physics.I had worked hard to score well and feel nice that I have exceeded my expectations.I plan to take up software engineering.
