The much talked about Inter Alumni Meet 2016 of the city is finally on the way. The St. Thomas’ Old Pupils’ Alumni (STOPA) organized the much awaited Invitational Inter School Alumni Swimming Competition. The event partnered by The Telegraph and held at Dalhousie Institute took place on 17th May, 2016. Nine of the most heavy-weight and prestigious schools’ Alumni took part in this event which comprised of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Mixed Relay and Butterfly forms of swimming to name just a few.

St Thomas’ Girls’ School principal Pauline Mukherjee, when asked to comment on the event, said that she thinks it is one of the greatest spirit of togetherness shared by the students. The friendly competitive environment and that too swimming in the hea—cant get any better. Most importantly, the students who were once class mates and have since parted ways get a chance to relieve in a fantastic nostalgia.
A pro swimmer who has both represented his school and also his state, Spandan Bannerjee of St Joseph’s College Old Boys’ Association (batch of 2009) was declared man of the series not to much surprise given his credentials in the sport. He was elated and mentioned that though he doesn’t get much time to swim nowadays and it means a lot to him to win but what excites him is the fact that even after so many years, he is getting to represent his own school.
Though a friendly outing for the alumni, but a sporting event will always have a winner none theless. The hall of fame saw this people making their mark:
