The much awaited and talked about Inter School Competition 2016-The Keventer Cup witnessed defending champions La Martiniere defeat Apeejay Park Street 6-0 in what seemed to be an easy task for the LM boys on the opening day. This inter school football tournament of the city is presented by the Debanjan Sen Foundation and is considered one of the most coveted football tournament in the city.
The match saw many a players step up to score which included Sarmanya Bhiwaniwala, Arman Sood, Vikrant Marc and Tridip Mitra, all of whom scored a goal each whereas Vineet Murmu scored a fantastic duo. Sood was declared Man of the Match for a jubilant performance. In the other matches, St. Thomas’ Kidderpore defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan by 1-0, thanks to the Carlo Songa goal which separated the two sides and Nawaz Ahmed of St. Thomas’ getting awarded as the Man of the Match.
Bodhi Bhavan defeated Scottish Church in what seemed like a one sided affair with a scoreline that read 5-2 in favor of the Bodhi Bhavans team. Two goals from Sumon Sani and a goal each from Subhas Mallick, Sonu Thakur and Samiran Mondal overshadowed the goals from the convent duo Ayan Sil and Arup Dutta.
