The much awaited and talked about Inter School Competition 2016-The Keventer Cup, organized by the Debanjan Sen Foundation, witnessed a staggering and dominant performance by the St. Thomas Kidderpore team who defeated a rather weak St. Thomas Free School Street team comprehensively, with a whooping 7-0 victory on Friday. Two of the goals were scored by Arka Das and Nawaz Ahmed and Musahid Eqbal Christy scored a goal each. But the player of the match was the hat-trick scorer Syed Mohammed Yasa who seemed indomitable on the pitch.
In the other match, St. Joseph & Mary’s School defeated St. Augustine’s by 5-0, thanks to roop Mandal and Dipankar Rajak, both of whom found their names on the scorecard, but was overshadowed by the hat-trick scorer Debabrata Naskar. Assembly of God Church tasted a bitter defeat at the hands of the DBPC (Don Boso Park Circus) boys, with the scoreline reading 3-1 in favour of the latter. Dion Greenway netted the ball twice in that match.
St. James’ School defeated Garden High International 2-0 with Kiyan Nassiri and Anirudh Ghosh scoring the all important goals and Bodhi Bhavan defeated Future Foundation 2-0 with Ritam Das and Suman Soni netting the ball each once.
