From the next academic session, parents willing to admit their children to Class I in Karnataka will have to compulsorily produce ear and eye screening certificates. The government will soon frame guidelines in this regard as a part of its state eye health policy. The committee has submitted 11 recommendations, including making refractive eye status compulsory during admissions, along with the child’s hearing condition and the blood group.
