Model Marking System which is already prevalent in ICSE and CBSE Boards will now help Madhyamik students to score better. Keywords in answer scripts will make a difference to marks scored in Madhyamik examination from 2017. The board will initiate a model marking system, following which the candidates will be marked on the basis of certain keywords and points in the answers. The model marking system will help to evaluate what a typical answer is and what an examiner should look for in the answer scripts. It will also mention the points which are mandatory and need to be present in an answer. It will also contain the step markings for each step of a mathematical problem. Even if the student fails to provide the correct answer, he will be awarded marks for each step he writes. The School Education Department wants to introduce a model marking system to cut out the subjective interpretation of answers by examiners which is often inconsistent.
