Schools in Pune City, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Khadki have come out with unique ideas to lighten the burden of school students. As per government resolution issued by the Education Department in the month of July, had instructed the officials to ensure that the weight of school bags should not be more than 10 per cent of the student’s body weight. According to the department, only a few schools from the state had sent reports on the matter till now and the deadline is likely to be missed and extended. But several schools seem to have taken prompt action to reduce the weight of school bags and are ready for inspection rounds.
