The most successful district in Madhyamik 2016 is once again East Midnapore. This is the second consecutive year that East Midnapore has excelled in Madhyamik. The average success rate for the district is almost 10% more than the State average. Apart from the relentless efforts from the students and their parents, the hearty-support and guidance of the teachers are also instrumental to this success, say educationists.
A prominent educationist, Sukumar Das explained that one won’t find a lot many factories and warehouses in this part of the state, but even the very remote villages of this district have a school. National Award recipient teacher, Mr Amiyabaran Bhoumik said that parents of this district have a simple agenda, money or no-money, they want their wards to be at least graduated, for which students want to successfully complete their madhyamik. Therefore, many a school does not have even a single unsuccessful student, such as Gayeshwari High School of Mahishadal. The principal of the school informed that the school has not had a single unsuccessful student for the last 5-6 years. This year 216 students appeared for madhyamik and every single student cleared it. Same is the case with Sachindra Siksha Sadan. Each student out of the 231 appearing student, have successfully passed the examination.
These schools follow the evaluation system, whereas the govt norm doesn’t advocate the ‘pass-fail’ system. They are doing everything out of their strong sense towards duty and are instrumental for East Midnapore’s feat of becoming the most successful district in Madhyamik 2016.
