The Primary Education Department of Mumbai recently sent a notification to all primary schools in Maharashtra stating that from 1st December, along with principals and teachers, parents would also taste the food. The letter sent by the director of primary education instructed that every day a parent will taste the midday meal and report about its quality and quantity to the education official through SMS. This will help to ensure the quality of the food and its nutritious value which is being served by the school. The instruction also stated that any complaint received from any parent regarding midday meal, and the payment for food will stop. Such measures have been taken to ensure health of a child.
