A fresh round of survey to identify out-of-school students in the state, which was scheduled to start by this week, is now likely to get delayed. The NGO deputed to carry out the survey has sought more time from the state. The NGO which will carry out the survey wants to properly prepare for it and does not want to start it in haste. They do not want any errors or mistakes to cripple in during the survey. Sources said that the survey might begin from or after 25th January 2016. The survey was initially supposed to start from 15th January and continue till 31stJanuary 2016. The state conducted the first round of survey in July 2015 to identify and track out-of-school students and enrol them in mainstream schools.
The second survey is to be conducted by NGO representatives, education department officials and a large number of NSS volunteers from colleges across the state.
