‘Pledge a Book’ campaign aims to reach out to under privileged students without access to books by setting up libraries in lower-income localities with books donated by students, faculty and the public. The campaign was initiated by the IIT Madras Technical Festival ‘Shaastra’. ‘Pledge a Book’ campaign is a movement that collects books from the privileged and generous individuals for the benefit of those who are not so privileged. Over 5000 books have been collected so far for these libraries for the underprivileged.
