Ramananda Bandopadhya’s Paintings to Pep up New Class X Books

For Madhyamik examinees in 2017, both the Bengali and English syllabus will undergo a huge change as compared to the previous batches as contemporary poets like Suniti Kumar Chattopadhyay , Sanjib Chattopadhyay , Joy Goswami, Alokeranjan Dasgupta, Sankha Ghosh, along with Nayantara Sehgal and R K Narayanan will be making an entry into the curriculum. Painter Ramananda Bandopadhyay had made 25 exclusive illustrations for Bengali textbooks.Chhatrapati Ghosh, who has worked for Conan Doyle’s `The Hound of Baskervilles’ and Somendranath Mazumdar had also illustrated various books for the curriculum. Author Sanjib Chattopadhyay had written a short biography on Rani Rashmoni; founder of the Dakshineshwar Temple in the new Bengali textbooks. Candidates who will be promoted to Class X in 2016 will have to study these new books.
