The ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has once again showed an inspiring gesture towards the district schools of the state which have wanted help from him. He has provided Financial Aid to Schools of West Midnapore previously as well, but this time he did it for the Saharda Kalipada Vidyapith in West Midnapore’s Pingla, to assist the school build two laboratories by donating a sum of Rs 21 lakh from his MPLAD funds. Students, teachers and guardians of the school are elated over completion of the ground floor laboratory, while work is on to build the first floor lab.
Headmaster Ajit Kumar Samanta approached Tendulkar on February 13 last year and requested him to sanction money following which, Tendulkar sent a note to West Midnapore DM Jagdish Prasad Meena on July 10 last year stating that the school will be scrutinized and if the result was acceptable, a sum of Rs21 lakh could be sanctioned from his MPLAD fund for the purpose.
The school, which got the status of a government sponsored school has total strength of 1890 students and a campus area spanning over 6.3 acres. It received 75% of the fund last year December only, as promised by the MP of Rajya Sabha and the cricketing legend.
