Around 50 school boards had met up in New Delhi on 28th October to discuss how to check the trend of excessively high board exam scores. Educationists said that there has been unreasonably lavish marking which has made it difficult to demarcate between the gifted from the mediocre. The former Chairman of CBSE said that apart from framing easy question papers, boards are providing grace marks up to 15 for each paper. Some students even exclaimed that despite of attempting 80 marks they have secured 90 marks in a paper. At times they even score full marks for every answers they attempt. This was simply because grace marks are being given to students. Boards have decided to meet up and discuss on the soaring scores of the students and will be taking relevant steps to rectify the matter.
