In April 2015, at an estimated cost of 7.5 lakh through the financial support of district administration’s self-sufficiency scheme, all the nine classrooms of the government middle school in Keechanpukkam were equipped with projectors, speakers, screens and laptops to impart e-education. Teachers went on a door-to-door campaign across the fishing hamlets of Keechanpukkam and Akkaraipettai to encourage parents to send their wards to school.
