During Discover India week at The American International School, the schoolkids, rather visiting tourist spots in Chennai though to devote that time into flood relief. While most children were enjoying more than a week-long unscheduled rain break because of the torrid rainfall and resulting flooding in several parts of the city, a few of them decided to use the time to volunteer with relief activities across the city. In Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, the residential students helped to prepare food packets for distribution to the flood-affected in Ennore and Manali.
At Swami Satya Jnanananda, students worked round the clock to help with the packaging and distribution of more than 8,000 packets of food in the last three days. At the Child Children’s Home in Korattur, orphans sat together with the Home cooks to prepare meals for distribution in various parts of the city.
