The gates of the city’s naval dockyard were opened for schoolchildren to get a glimpse of the Indian Navy’s glorious fleet. Over 50 children were part of a visit to a submarine and INS Viraat during the Times of India’s Mumbai for Kids initiative. Children were first taken on board submarine Sindhukesari. They took a tour of the submarine, giving them a rare chance of going inside it.
The children were curious to know about the periscope and how it works. Navy personnel explained to children all about the Russian made submarine.
Children were told about the working of INS Viraat.The visit to the naval dockyard was not only informative, but also inspiring for the children.
