Schools bring novel ideas this Children’s Day by doing something out of the box.
Lessons taught inside the classrooms can sometimes be more important than those which is learnt inside the classroom. Some of the city schools decided to move away from cultural programmes and distribution of sweets which are usually associated with Children’s Day and come up with novel ideas to help children. The Shreeniketan group of schools gifted its students their own savings accounts. A savings account for all students from Class VI onwards is being opened and the first contribution to their account is Rs 100 donated from the school. The aim is to help students understand the concept of managing money from a very young age.
Few other schools decided to help under privileged and the orphans. Kali gi Ranganathan Montford Matric Higher Secondary School in Perambur contributed a load of provisions to four different orphanages.
