The Central Information Commission (CIC) has said that schools and education departments should not disclose information about children under the RTI Act without consulting their parents. Revealing the details of the child might lead to criminal activities that might harm the child and his/her family.An incident had occurred in the past for revealing a student’s information which had led to several issues. Due to this reason CIC has directed schools not to disclose information without consulting the parents of a child.
