Schools must hold Parent-Teacher meeting each quarter

The Directorate of Education, through its recent circular mentioned that there should be at least one parent-teacher meeting (PTM) every quarter; and has been made compulsory. Parent-Teacher meeting is an important measure for improving teaching learning process as they provide a platform for the parents and teachers to discuss regarding the overall development of a student. According to the circular it is important to have PTMs after summative assessment-I to discuss the various learning levels and before summative assessment-II to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the wards. Schools have been directed to maintain a separate attendance register for parents during such meetings. Parents must also be informed regarding shortage of attendance of their wards.
