The State Government has suggested that students studying in class II shall not be promoted to higher classes unless they are familiar with alphabets, able to recognize counting from 1-100 and are able to write them in words. The state education department officials said that with the advent of such measures, the government intended to ensurethat students shall be able to read and write the language they are studying. Class II students shall also be able to identify pictures and read words associated with the pictures.
Another recommendation suggested that there must be constant evaluation of the teachers and based on evaluation incentives must be provided to them. In order to ensure that the teachers are taking proper classes, there shall be CCTV cameras in every classes and should be regularly monitored.
