Class IX students Sumedh Joshi and Akash Kulkarni of SPM English School, Pune, secured the first position in the preliminary written round and zonal rounds of the quiz competition organized by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).
The questions were based on culture and heritage of the country. Sumedh and Akash used the recommended sources of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks and researched the government and local administration websites to prepare for the contest. In the national final held at the Doordarshan studio in New Delhi, the two bagged the third position. They were awarded a cash prize and a certificate of merit for their outstanding performances.
